花に集う燕という文様の意味

燕は毎春おなじ軒下に戻ります。壮族の家では、年が巡り家族が欠けていない印として読まれてきました。開く花のまわりに四羽または二羽で織られ、帰郷と、人を留め置く家を表します。

作り方

錦の面を先に織り、裁断・縁かがりのうえ革のボディへ手作業で組み上げます。文様の位置はプリントの見当ではなく、一点ごとに決められます。

方向と動きのある文様で、帰郷や再会を記念する贈り物に向きます。

お手入れ

錦は乾いた柔らかい布で拭き、革には年に二度、無色のクリームを。長時間の直射日光は避けてください。草木染めの糸は革よりずっと早く退色します。
