About this piece

What the field-of-blessings motif means

A cultivated field seen from above, divided into plots and planted with small flowers. It is the Zhuang way of drawing a settled, sufficient life — the blessing of ordinary ground that produces.

How it is made

A narrow brocade band is gathered by hand over an elastic core and closed with a hidden seam, so the pleats sit unevenly on purpose.

Reads as a soft all-over print at arm's length; ideal for hair accessories.

Care

Hand wash cool with a mild detergent, reshape while damp and dry flat away from heat. Do not wring the brocade band — the elastic core is sewn in.
