Orchid Courtyard · Lucent Shadow is a woven mini bag built around a panel of handwoven Zhuang brocade woven in the huiwen meander motif, cut and positioned by hand before it is mounted. Motif placement is decided per bag, so no two are identical.

Read the full shipping and returns policy →The meander — huiwen, literally the returning pattern — is a single line that turns back on itself without ever ending. Zhuang weavers run it as a border to mean continuity, and as a field to mean a life that keeps circling home.
The brocade is stretched over a clasp frame and finished around a turned handle, a construction that takes longer than a sewn opening but keeps the mouth of the bag square.
The most architectural motif here; it behaves like a pinstripe and goes with everything.
Wipe the brocade with a dry, soft cloth. Wooden and bamboo parts prefer a dry room; avoid soaking, and let the piece dry naturally if it is caught in rain.
