Butterfly Shadow · Mist Blue is a woven mini frame bag built around a panel of handwoven Zhuang brocade woven in the butterfly-and-blossom motif, cut and positioned by hand before it is mounted. Motif placement is decided per bag, so no two are identical.

In Chinese the word for butterfly echoes the word for great age, so the motif carries a wish for a long, affectionate life; paired with an open flower it becomes a symbol of devotion and of seasons that keep returning.
The brocade is stretched over a clasp frame and finished around a turned handle, a construction that takes longer than a sewn opening but keeps the mouth of the bag square.

Wipe the brocade with a dry, soft cloth. Wooden and bamboo parts prefer a dry room; avoid soaking, and let the piece dry naturally if it is caught in rain.
